I’ve spent the past 19 years working across disability, mental health and early childhood, and throughout my career, one thing has always mattered most to me: people.
Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to work across a variety of roles, including Regional Manager, Operations Lead, Behaviour Support Practitioner, SIL House Manager, NDIS Intake and Customer Specialist, and Accreditation Readiness. These experiences have given me a broad understanding of the disability sector, from frontline support and working alongside families to service operations, quality, compliance and the systems that shape people's experiences.
But beyond my professional experience, I also bring lived experience and a personal understanding of mental health and neurodiversity. This has shaped the way I see people, the way I approach challenges and the importance I place on empathy, acceptance and understanding. It has reinforced my belief that every person's experience is different, that there is often more to someone's story than we see on the surface, and that people deserve to feel understood rather than judged.
People have always been at the heart of why I do what I do.
Throughout my career, I've seen how much of a difference the right support can make for individuals and their families. I've also come to understand how challenging it can be to navigate a system that doesn't always feel personal, accessible or easy to understand.
That's a big part of why I chose to step away from working within organisation's and become an independent practitioner.
I wanted to work in a way that genuinely aligned with my values. I wanted the freedom to build meaningful relationships, take the time to really listen, advocate when something doesn't feel right, and make decisions based on what matters to the person — not simply what works within a system or organization.
For me, being independent isn't just about how I work. It's about staying true to why I started in this sector in the first place.
Today, through Bloom Thrive Grow, I bring together my professional experience, lived experience and genuine passion for supporting individuals and families. I have a particular passion for working alongside children and families navigating disability and neurodivergence, including those with complex support needs, communication differences and mental health challenges.
I understand that every person and family has their own story, challenges, strengths and hopes for the future. There is no one-size-fits-all approach to support, and I believe the best outcomes come from taking the time to understand the person behind the plan.
My approach is grounded in integrity, transparency, compassion and advocacy. I believe in respecting people's choices, protecting their dignity, recognizing their right to take reasonable risks and supporting them to have greater choice and control over their own lives.
I also believe families deserve to feel heard, supported and understood — not judged, dismissed or left to figure everything out on their own.
Whether I'm helping someone navigate their NDIS journey, coordinating supports, advocating for their needs or providing practical support in everyday life, my goal is always the same: to make a genuine difference in a way that feels right for the person.
At the heart of everything I do is a simple belief: people are not just plans, funding or services. They are individuals with their own voices, goals, rights and lives to live.
And that's what I want Bloom Thrive Grow to stand for — support that puts people first, always.
